About the trainings —

Alena has designed and facilitated her signature 200hr Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) numerous times. She also designed and facilitated specialty training for Yin Yoga. Her trainings have a specifically designed curriculum in order to deeply enrich your practice and understanding of Yoga, yet also encourage your unique imprint!

Her comprehensive YTT will give you a strong foundation for yoga philosophy and practice, and at the same time, evolve you personally. This 200hr YTT program is a comprehensive certification training that is designed for students interested in becoming yoga teachers, any current yoga teachers who are seeking to expand and refine their knowledge and teaching, and anyone who wishes to gain more understanding of all aspects of the practice and gain valuable tools for personal growth.

During the training students are introduced to concepts of the yogic path including history, philosophy, different types of yoga, Asanas (poses), Pranayama (breathwork), subtle body, meditation, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, teaching methodology (class planning, design and sequencing), professional development and practice teaching.

This training is registered and approved by Yoga Alliance, open to ALL levels and does not require any prior teaching experience. Upon completion of this program, you will be equipped with skills to lead safe, empowering, and versatile classes. You will learn how to offer modification, posture options, and how to sequence a complete series of classes with progressive level of difficulty. Be prepared for a deeply enriching and transformative personal experience, and to dive into an opportunity to truly get to know yourself.

Alena is an exceptionally gifted trainer of yoga teachers. Through her knowledge and experience, she created a well-rounded training program which took our class through the history of yoga, explored the philosophies of yoga, and guided us through not only all the essentials of what it takes to be a yoga teacher in a Western yoga studio but also opened our eyes to the broader world of yoga. Alena creates a nurturing learning environment where we were encouraged to explore, be open with each other, and were free to make mistakes, knowing that we were in a safe space to do so. We gained practical knowledge for the goal of becoming a yoga teacher. We also learned about ourselves in the process. I took life lessons away from Alena’s training that continue to help guide me in ways I didn’t expect but am glad to have taken from her training- lessons on approaching life with self-worth, self-acceptance, vulnerability, non-judgementality, and better knowledge of myself. Alena’s training provides a deepened understanding of your yoga practice, an improved sense of self, and the knowledge you need to become a well-rounded yoga teacher.

I can’t say enough positive things about Alena. She is a kind soul with so much knowledge and such a beautiful way of sharing it with us. She seems to embody what she teaches more than probably any teacher I’ve had on any topic in my life. She brings grace, humility, care, and passion to a subject she obviously cares so much about. She is wonderful, and I feel so fortunate to have been her student.

Would I recommend this class and why?
Absolutely. I came to this training looking to deepen my practice and be prepared to teach, whether or not I actually decided to teach. I got so much more than that. This was a several month life realignment course- unexpected but very welcome. I think a lot of the people in our class were feeling like they were in some sort of life transition, as I was/am, and I hope that they took as much from this as I did. I feel that I’ve grown significantly through this training. I told a friend of mine after one of the weekends that it felt like fitness, therapy, and life coaching all in one. But those more personal, introspective aspects are presented in such a way that it’s non-judgmental and you can take or leave whichever parts work for you. In learning from them about how some other trainings are, I feel so very fortunate to have taken my training here rather than anywhere else. I feel changed for the better, and there are few experiences in my life I can talk about like that so genuinely.
